Two-fer post
May 2nd, 2010 09:50 pmWas too tired to post yesterday evening so here I am trying to catch up on the weekend.
While I got various things accomplished over the weekend, both days were unseasonably hot. Once again, we by-passed warm and went right to jungle heat. On Saturday it seemed that the AC worked for most of the day and waited until the evening to conk out. This morning it seemed to work a bit after being cranky, but by the early afternoon it was only blowing air, not cooling it.
Right now I have the house fan going in hope of getting things cool enough so that I can get to sleep. bleh. The HVAC guys are supposed to call me tomorrow to arrange an appointment for my ailing AC.
The push mower that I am borrowing from Mom went to the lawnmower doctor yesterday. He will give it a tune up as well as fix the self-propelling part. Once it comes home I can see about getting Mom's Yard Bug riding mower in.
One of my wind-chimes is now back in service after I restrung it ... with cinnamon dental floss no less!
For the love of horses, if you ever wish to paint an appliance, please use appliance paint. My sister had hooked me up with a little cube fridge that I kept in my office at CFC. I want to bring it into my new office, but since I don't have a place to hide it, it has to look nice. After trying to remove the white spray paint from the brown fridge with several implements of destruction, I finally resorted to scraping the whole thing with a razor blade. The fridge is now sanded and ready to be cleaned, taped and painted, but I ran out of oomph and daylight.
Went over to Mom's for lunch and pit bull puppy play time (oh yeah, to visit with Mom too!). I stopped at Martin's on the way for some fried chicken and cole slaw (both of which were very yummy).
Thanks to Mom for loaning me MORE tools. This time I am borrowing her cute baby chain saw and a cordless weed whacker.
Lots of friends called me over the weekend and it was awesome getting to chat with them. Thanks to you guys for looking out for me - I REALLY appreciate it!
