Today was one of those days where nothing seemed to go as planned ... or work ... or even start.
Tried putting the battery in the Gold Wing but couldn't get the positive lead on properly. I'm a bit antsy when it comes to working on things like batteries to I don't want to muck about with a bunch of tools in a tight spot and a cranky battery.
Since I couldn't take the bike out for a spin as my honey suggested, I figured that I would mow the lawn since the weather was still quite nice. Turns out the lawnmower has picked up another nail (in yet a different tire). An email fired off to the roofing contractor basically got me no where. Well, he says he can come with a metal detector but his tone did not sound promising.
Since the front yard really needs a trim, I figured that I could do that little bit with the push mower. Sounded like a great plan B ... except that the push mower would not start.
By now it was almost lunch time and I was afraid to touch any sort of project that could backfire on me.
After grabbing a bite, I decided to dye some of the curtains from city home (white curtains + the dogs = disaster). The curtains for the office seem to be the shade that I was going for but the practice room ones are a bit lighter than expected. Once I get them ironed and hung, we'll see what
daecabhir has to say about them.
With the morning's three technical errors out of the way, I figured it was time to see if the power washer would fire up. After a false (non)start due to operator error (choke in to open or choke out?) it started on the first pull! I washed the front porch a bit; it will need some detergent to prep the painted wood better, but at least we have a machine to do it with now.
Fortunately for me,
daecabhir had a lot of hugs for me when he got home which were much needed. He is the bestest partner ever.
The strawberry lambic that I had picked up in F'burg yesterday from Total Wine was a big disappointment - very bitter. The farmer's cheese pierogies that I made for dinner were very yummy however and we ate them all up.
And now this girl must sleep!
