A much better day!
July 1st, 2011 10:59 pmThankfully the nice weather is holding out and after my hug therapy last night, I was ready to have a good day regardless of yesterday's snafu-riddled baloney.
More progress with painting the practice room. The trim all has one coat and the closet door got two coats (so it's done).
Minor victory over the curtain rods today when i was able to fashion an extension for the one rod was too short.
When
daecabhir got home (early no less!) we had a nice dinner of meatless chili mac and then he helped me get the positive lead attached on the Wing's battery. With the battery properly installed, the bike started right up. YAY! We had an unexpected 'thrill' when we saw a field mouse under the Wing as it sat idling; apparently it had been in the fuselage! he was tough to chase off but he finally went away and I kept my fingers crossed that he did not have any buddies still in the bike.
Since the bike was now running, I asked
daecabhir if he was ready to try going for a ride. He said no, but was game just the same and so we headed off to the nearby community college to make use of their nice big parking lot. It's been many years since I have carried a passenger on the bike and this was a big step for my mate so practice riding for both of us was definitely needed. Although he was pretty tense, he did fine however it seems that we need another parking lot session before he's ready to hit the streets with me. I'm really glad that he was willing to give it a try.
