[livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and I have been enjoying a wonderful weekend together ~ we have slept in, had time for cuddling and relaxed breakfasts (not to mention pancakes). There's been time for knitting, meditation, a movie and stove shopping ... because you know, that's what you want to do to relax.

Yes, I am joking about the relaxing part, but we really did end up stove shopping since our stove has decided to go a bit wonky. Since I do most of the cooking, it had only gone wonky on me and I was beginning to wonder if it was me or the stove. Yesterday morning though the stove should its true colors (almond, really) and went crazy on [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir - proving that i am not crazy (in that particular instance).

For the morbidly curious, the front right burner (regardless of which coil is in it) goes from whatever setting you have it on to raging-burning-hell hot with no warning, effectively scorching whatever you were attempting to cook. Since this is a fire hazard in addition to being horrendously inconvenient to two foodies, we're not messing about with it for much longer.

In case you were wondering, the Sunday before Halloween is not a wise time to go shopping at the mall when they are doing a free trick or treat she-bang for the kids. Holy moly!

Our trek to Fredericksburg included yummy Thai for lunch (Thai Town 56 for the win!), scoring two sexy dress shirts for [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and the best (and biggest) salted caramel mocha frappechino ever. We also managed to learn a bunch about stoves too - things like Maytag and Whirlpool are sadly horrible quality now, terms like free-standing and slide-in do not mean what you think they mean and that our good buddy Super Dave at Sears is still super.

In other news, while [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir did not _make_ me wear the walking cast on my left foot, I am VERY glad that he suggested it since my foot was hurting something fierce. Wise Panda is wise and I am glad I had enough sense to listen to him.

Loom progress: I have now completed three hats on the loom and I am hooked!
