The details
January 26th, 2012 05:31 pmIt was very hard not posting about the details of all the wedding planning and preparation that happened! Even for a small wedding there were lots of details that had to be ironed out, not to mention a trek to Anne Arundel County for the marriage license.
The excerpt from my Facebook post:
Once upon a time, 1/21/12 to be exact, the adorkable duo were married in a small ceremony held at Killarney House Irish Restaurant and Pub in Davidsonville, MD. (Killarney House is where the duo discovered what shiny tastes like when they first met.)
Marie Torre escorted the adorkable duo to the altar and then with Mistress of Honor
dreamtigress & Best Man Michael Nguyen, by their sides, they exchanged vows in front of
aylinn. The bride & groom wore black & burgundy leather and silly smiles that are still on their faces.
The vows, which I may post separately, were a wonderful blend of Shambhala and pagan traditions.
daecabhir is a remarkably talented wordsmith and his work on our vows was a wonderful wedding present.
Also with us for our special day were Chris and Heather Messick with the kids (yay!), Kory Kaese and escorting
dreamtigress was August Shaner. It was a lot of fun to have the kids there ... Noelle wore her new purple dress, Kyle took lots of pictures and Kevin flirted shamelessly with our waitress ("She's a hot lady!").
daecabhir and I christened the pottery goblets from Larry and Kathy for our toast.
dreamtigress "surprised" us with pesche lambic and Sam Adams Inifium for toasting; both she and Mike gave wonderful toasts (as did my honey).
Once everyone had enjoyed dinner, we packed up, said our goodbyes and headed to Silver Spring.
daecabhir had booked us a nice suite near Piratz Tavern where we would put in an appearance at Jon Sykes' birthday party. We were in for quite a surprise when we opened the door ... there were rose petals everywhere! There was a gorgeous orchid with a note from Jon & Hannah. Seems we had a wedding night ninja!
We are really touched by what amazing friends and family that we have. Their support has been tremendous throughout this past year of changes for both
daecabhir and I and we couldn't have done it without their help.
