What global warming?
February 1st, 2012 09:55 pmFirst day of February and I rode my GoldWing to Manassas Clay for my hand-building class! While it was a bit chilly on the way in, it was well worth it for the wonderful ride home.
In today's class, we learned how to build a box with clay. The instructor, Mikki, seems to know lots of fun tricks and has lots of neat-o gadgets. I was able to glaze my three coil pieces from the first class as well as clean up my three from last week (and sign them). Since the last hour of class was basically free time, I made another pinch bottom piece and some cookie-cutter birds.
The bedroom makeover is getting closer to being done, while we still need to find a ceiling fan that suits out needs and tastes, we now have a sexy bench at the foot of the bed and the bedroom door is back on finally. This afternoon, I prepped and painted the bathroom side of the door jam and as soon as the paint cures, that door can go back on as well. Next up is finishing the last bit of trim and finding lamps for the headboard.
On my way to pottery class this morning, I passed by a farm where my former brother-in-law does some odds jobs and much to my surprise, I saw my ex-husband standing in one of the fields. It was an "ewww" moment even though I know he didn't see me. In the grand scheme of things I guess it's not a big deal, just not what I was expecting on my way to class.
