Another week went whizzing by
May 19th, 2012 10:39 amThat was a fast one!
The week was filled with grocery shopping, house cleaning and an appointment with Dr. Ward for another round of spinal decompression therapy. I told him that I wasn't sure it was working since I was still 5'7". He came back quickly with, "Oh, it's working - otherwise you'd be 5'5"!"
Lots of laundry has been done in the aftermath of the weekend. With three guest beds and a lot of showers, the "mount Washmore" (credit for that one goes to
dansr) was large but I am mighty and diligent. The garb has been put away and the only thing left are the pop-up gazebos on the deck and we'll be taking them down this morning.
By Thursday I was finally able to spend some quality time in the studio and spent the afternoon glazing bisqueware. On Friday morning, I turned the kiln on to run my first glaze fire. This load of pottery represents my first fully home-grown pottery. While the kiln was doing its thing, I did some throwing in the afternoon and turned out eight pieces.
The weather has been amazing for the past few days and this morning is no exception (although today will see temps hitting 80 degrees). Once we take down the gazebos, we'll clean up and head to town;
daecabhir and I have a movie date to see the Avengers.
