Catching up
September 4th, 2012 09:36 pmMDRF this weekend was very warm and extremely muggy. We spent most of our time being damp, fanning ourselves, and drinking copious amounts of fluids. As always it was good to see our rennie family; even if it was too hot to hug anyone. The Rogues played this weekend and we got to see a few of their shows. Watching my
daecabhir smile and dance makes for one very happy girl. One disappointment so far is not being able to find a suitable replacement for my thumb ring.
Today's accomplishments including getting Tucker in to see a vet for his ear, smelly breath, occasional loose stools, and as a bonus, his rabies booster. Since a trip to the vet we had been going to runs $200-300 every time we go, I had put out the call for a recommendation for a vet that would be a bit more reasonable and closer to home. Blue Ridge Animal Hospital was the unanimous suggestion from a few friends and I am glad we went there. Tucker has pills for his tummy, ointment for his ears, a fairly clean bill of health on his mouth, and a shiny new rabies tag all for a reasonable fee.
Next week will find us in the OBX on vacation. It's hard to believe that it has come up so soon on us. There is much to do in preparation which means I will not get much studio time this week (and none next week).
Speaking of studio time, I have been asked to do a special pottery commission. An acquaintance, whose horse recently passed away, has asked me to create two pieces of pottery incorporating some of the horse's hair. They have asked for something practical - a bowl, plate or mug.
