pandasheartMom & I drove out to the shelter to meet Kane, the American Bulldog. She's a very nice dog & I would be willing to give her a try. Brian met up with us at the shelter & we talked things over while hanging out with Kane.
Brian also wanted me to meet a small Pit Bull that had also caught his eye. She's a petite lilac brindle lass & quite sweet. She does a little squintie thing with her eyes that reminded me of Cricket. While we'd probably take this lass, Kane is the one that really strikes Brian the most.
While we were with Kane it dawned on us that she might be deaf. We tried various noises, including whistles. She ignored most noises but it seems that certain tones do get through. Without knowing her history & all the recent commotion in her life, we can't be sure.
Sadly, I think a deaf dog is a deal-breaker for Brian. If it were up to me, we'd give her a try more so because of it ... not everyone is prepared to deal with a deaf dog. I would hate to see her go to a home & get into trouble because they do not understand. We're still giving it some thought though.
