It may be the second...

...but today was one of firsts.

• My first deer of the season!
• First deer with my Knight (muzzleloader)!
• First season that I have bagged a deer before Brian!

With the weather looking so wonderful, I decided on an afternoon hunt at Bob's place. Even though I have not been seeing many deer in the afternoons there, it was just too nice of a day to let go by without getting in the woods.

I spotted a small doe out of shooting range a few times but nothing closer in. Turns out the doe must have hung around for about 45 minutes and finally wandered close enough in for a shot. This was the furthest shot I have made and it was spot on. The doe did not travel more than 7-8 yards. She is very small, but the meat should be quite tender.

To make things even the better, the moon is AMAZING tonight!
