A footnote in my history

pandasheartMy father, Arthur Raymond Himsel, passed away yesterday evening (November 12, 2009) at 6:45 pm. His death was due to congestive heart failure. He was 79 years old. He died alone and in his sleep.
I post this news here because it is a footnote in my life ... but it is nothing more. If my memory recalls correctly, I most likely last saw my father sometime around 1990. He has - in effect - been dead to me for a very long time.
My father was not a family man by any means despite having two children. Two children who have grown up to be pretty darn good women (in my not so humble opinion) by the grace having a wonderful Mother who acted as both parents.
Perhaps it is an awful statement, but I simply have no grief in my heart for him. It is a true statement nonetheless.
