Brace yourself, it's a long one!

There has been so much that I have wanted to say, but not only has time not been my friend, it's been my enemy. There's simply not enough time!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who stops by here. If you have a honey to squeeze, I suggest you give them an extra today. I'll be sure to give Brian one when I get home from second shift but he will be sleeping! If you don't have anyone nearby to squeeze, think about all the folks that you love (in any sort of way) & those who love you.
Speaking of coming home from second shift, last night after I worked until 1 AM, I went grocery shopping on my way home. Needless to say, I was pretty wiped when I came through the door knowing that I had all the groceries to put away yet.
As I walked in, I saw flowers on the table from Brian. Red roses & white carnations in a big vase. What a wonderful surprise to come home & find. He's really spoiling me (but I like it) since he just bought me flowers not that long ago. Better yet was the card sitting with the flowers. Brian's not much of a card guy so I am always proud of him when he remembers. The card he picked out & signed his name to touched me so deeply, I started to cry.
How sappy is that? LOL
In other news, we did not make the trip for the Valentine's party that we were supposed to attend in North Carolina this past weekend because Brian was not feeling well enough to travel. I was SO sad!!! On the up side, our friends are having a Mardi Gras party in March & Brian said we can go.
Still no name for our pet rat. Maybe I have lost my touch when it comes to naming critters. It was always something that came to me readily.
The official unofficial (or is that the unofficial official?) word is that the regular second shift manager will be returning on February 27th which will make my last day on this watch the 23rd. While I have no earthly idea of what returning to days will bring, I am ready to go back.
I sent out 2 resumes last week. One place called the same day (can you say desperate?) & I have not heard a word from the other (which, of course, is the one I wanted). Here it is Tuesday & I have yet to open my Sunday paper. Two big stumbling blocks in career path are a limited pool of good paying jobs close to home & me having no idea of what to do next in job market.
I guess that's all the news that's fit to print, as they say.
