Okay, here I am!

I must be having fun because time is flying!
One or two tidbits that I failed to mention in my post about the Turkey Day holiday...
dreamtigress, load a 4' x 8' sheet of tileboard for the studio into the back of Mom's van, and then hit Clayworks for some pottery goodies. All this worked worked out very well until Mom and I ran into hateful traffic on route 95 south which made our trek home about an hour longer than it should of been. Sadly that was the end of bad traffic;
daecabhir ran into some as well which effectively negated our dinner plans. On the upside, I have a raincheck for dinner with this most amazing guy...
Speaking of that guy, he is so very thoughtful that it really blows me away. For birthday, he gave me the hand-blown mug that I fell in love with this season at faire. I must have been ogling it hard because even the glass blower came over to talk with me about it. It's has greens and blues and an appealing shape. Oddly enough, you can't drink hot liquids from it, so my pottery has no fear. Another present was the stair basket that I have wanted for years - even before I had stairs to put one on. It's handy for sticking things in that need to go down (or up) a flight of stairs. And then... then... my man got me an ultra sexy PINK tool box. We had seen the big floor set at Sears and I went nuts over it. This tool chest is smaller and more manageable and even has pink drawer liners and keys to match. Now to figure out if it's going in the studio or the garage. Decisions, decisions.
On the way to Baltimore, Mom and I saw bald eagle! She spotted it first and I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of it as it flew overheard. It's the first (for certain) that I have seen. On the way home, I saw a shooting star; that's the second on that's seen this year (not counting 'showers').
Last but not least, I reacquainted myself with an old friend today ... my treadmill. Since my handy husband ran more electricity to the basement, we worked on setting up a place for the treadmill and assorted electronics. And so, for the first time in a very long time, I can report treadmill usage. Today's walk was short, but hey, I actually remembered how to work the darned thing!

One or two tidbits that I failed to mention in my post about the Turkey Day holiday...
daecabhir took the whole week off which was very nice. He helped me get the house ready, grocery shopping, prep food, and we still managed to have a bit of quality time with each other.
- On Friday, the 23rd, we had some girl time in the studio!
1painter42,
dreamtigress and Kathleen joined me in the studio for some clay therapy. It is fun to share my studio with friends and watch them be creative.
- Since we had the whole gang here, we celebrated my birthday early.
njzoomom got me the CinDwood knitting looms that I had my wishlist - including the afghan loom which will be good for shawls. These looms are 1/2" gauge so they will be a much finer knit than what I am currently able to do. (Mom also gave me a card with a 'little' something that I opened on birthday.)
dreamtigress scored a DA Loom for me on eBay; it's also a shawl-sized loom but with a bigger gauge which should make some nice lightweight shawls. (She also gave me some really scrumptious yarn!) Art & Kathleen got me a giftcard for Bed, Bath & Beyond because they know I like to shop there. As always, it was wonderful to be surrounded by family and friends during this time.
