What's that noise?

pandasheartAfter reading one novel, starting another & in general, going stir crazy, I convinced the ex to get out of the house to do some window shopping.
So far, so good.
We make it to one store, shop for some shoes (nothing for him, one pair of sandals for me, maybe) & the ex realizes that he has forgotten his wallet at the house. Not that we had really intended on spending any money or anything, but wallets are good ... just in case.
As we are nearing the house, we hear this odd noise, almost as though something has caught underneath the truck or something. Neither of us has a clue as to what the noise is, but the ex doesn't seem really worried about it.
After coming back from the house with missing wallet in hand, off we go.
NOT!
The Dodge has NO reverse. Reverse is gone. Bye bye reverse. No more reverse. (No more shopping either - LOL)
After several phone calls, we determine a few things ... such as, this should be under warranty (a GOOD thing); there is a Dodge dealer not that far away (GOOD thing); that dealer needs at least a week to even see the truck (BAD thing); there is a better dealer 50 miles away (GOOD & BAD thing); the Dodge is too wide for a tow dolly thingie from U-Haul (BAD thing) & etc.
Seems we'll be making another trip down to the OBX area soon to pick up one Dodge pick up.
