Maybe I lied...

OK, I know I said I was going to do some spiffy updates & I haven't done them yet.
For an unemployed chick, I am keeping mighty busy!
Like yesterday ... actually traveling OUT of the house to Fredericksburg. First thing on the list was to have blood drawn for 3 blood tests that my new Doctor requested back in September. To my pleasant surprise, the tech only needed 1 large tube for the tests & was an ace with venipuncture.
Then it was on to breakfast at Denny's of all places. It was fair. It was Denny's ... were you expecting something else?
Next stop was Goodwill where I dropped off an entire bag full of shirts from my old job. I hope some old nasty bums get them & sport them around town. I had originally intended to bring them back to my former employer, but that just never happened ... someone should get some use out of them.
After a quick stop at the credit union, it was off to the mall. Woohoo! A woman at mall! Sears was the first target; I exchanged some odd-color sheets that I 'inherited' (they were brand new - relax!) for a nice set of flannel sheets. It took some doing, but I have converted Brian over to flannel sheets for the cold weather.
Kay Jewelers was next ... time to relinquish my ring so they can fix it. Thank goodness the prissy woman who "helped" us last time was not there. The two sales girls that were at the counter knew EXACTLY who I was talking about before I even had a chance to finish describing the lady. Apparently we are not the only customers who have had a less-than-stellar experience with her. After having a long chat about the diamond that had come loose, I feel much more confident that the ring will be OK in the long run. Tightening the setting & plating the ring will take about a week, so I am ringless for now.
Although it was very tempting to shop the mall, lack of funds made it easy to head out to the next stop ... which was Bed, Bath & Beyond. After exchanging a steel (sharpening steel), I did some shopping there since I had a gift card from my birthday. My loot included a "Totally 80's" cd that has some great tunes from 20 years ago. ACK! It really can't be 20 years ago, can it?
Final stop on the outing was to Ukropps for some groceries. I like this store a lot & wish I could shop there more often. They are closed on Sundays (ala Chik-Fil-A) which is, of course, the day we most frequently do our shopping.
OK, you got a little update ... sorry it was so dang boring!
