CFC - the first day!

pandasheartAfter dusting off my lunch box (OK, really a small cooler) I was ready to get my things together for my first day. I wanted to bring in a few personal things, but so much that it looks like I am moving in. I am glad that I pretty much kept my schedule on an even keel while I was not working so that getting up early was not a big shocker.
My new boss at the Co-op, Ed, admitted to me that he really doesn't any sort of training for new employees. He also admitted that the last time he tried to "really" train someone they left at lunchtime & never came back. Woohoo! Tomorrow I will get a tour of the different store locations.
My morning was spent trying to make sense of the clutter that is ALL over my office, taking care of all the HR stuff (including watching a hazardous material video), being treated to TWO rounds of cake while watching afore mentioned video & trying to figure out InDesign well enough to make some edits to ad copy.
After a quick bite to eat, I went out to the Endeavor to call both Brian & Mom to give them the scoop on the new job. One neat-o thing I learned is that the local petroleum co-op & CFC have a mutual agreement allowing employees to enjoy discounts at both places. This means I get buy discounted gas! At $50+ to fill up my beloved Endeavor, that is most awesome news!
The rest of the afternoon found me wading through about 1,500 emails of my predecessor to see if there was anything important. In the unreal amount of emails between she & her boyfriend, there was actually good information.
The puppies are starting to lift their heads & look around. They are SO cute & they are getting bigger every day it seems. I hope the cold spell we are having passes soon. I don't like having the heat lamp going 24/7 ... yes, I am paranoid.
The second momma is still holding back the puppy dam. I watched the puppies moving around in her tummy tonight for a while. I think she might be getting close.
