Surgery update

The extractions went really well. I was under for 45 minutes & woke up minus 2 teeth. No broken jaw & no evidence of nerve damage. (Both were huge concerns for the last oral surgeon.) Now my body has to fight the infection in my jaw. The doctor explained to us that in 9 of 10 cases, the body is able to handle it. In that 10th case, more serious measures will have to be taken ... hospitalization & possibly draining the infection via incision. Let's hope it does not come to that!
This practice has really impressed me so far. Every one of the staff that I have come into contact with has been a gem! From the tech who did the X-ray (who wouldn't take it right away because she felt I looked a bit woozy - she made me sit with my head down & some ice on my neck until I perked up a bit) to the tech who came with antibiotics & wished me well to the receptionist who has greeted us with a smile & me by name on the second day to the 2 surgeons that I have seen ... one for yesterday's visit & one for the surgery today.
Thanks to Brian for finding them!
