Really! I'm still here...
April 13th, 2005 10:36 am...but SO slammed at the office it's not funny.
I am one of two Senior Project managers for my company & the other SPM was off yesterday unexpectedly (sick baby) & is on vacation from 4/14 through 4/20. We were supposed to transition accounts Tuesday & Wednesday, but things ended up dumped on my head yesterday morning. Today is damage control for everything that went wrong yesterday. Apparently my last name was changed to Murphy & no one told me. (Won't Brian be surprised!) Oh well, no sense in whining about it all - I will just dig in & get things done!
Only in Culpeper County...
Yesterday morning as I was pulling out of the driveway, our neighbor held up a dead turkey that he had shot that morning! (For the record, it was a nice gobbler with a really thick 7" beard; I forgot to look at the spurs.) As we stood there with the proud hunter & dead turkey, the school bus came to pick up the kids. The dead turkey was hoisted high so everyone could admire the kill. Much cheering came from the school bus. Had this incident happened in the city or Fairfax County, the police would have been called!
