Second shift musings
January 12th, 2006 08:33 pmLast night of my first week on second shift. If I only had the second shift to worry about it, I think that I would be having a blast. Of course, every day I learn of a new responsibility that the supervisor, who is out on leave, neglected to tell me. << insert sarcastic grin here >>
The main troubles that I am having seem to be coming from my peer-senior-project-manager-turned-co-manager who feels the need to meddle in my projects. Before starting this stint with the second shift, I went to great lengths to make sure that my clients would be serviced properly & at the same time, ensuring that the other project managers would not need to be bothered with my clients.
This morning's email contained one from her stating that she needs access to my files or I need to email her personally with updates on my clients' projects. Apparently she is unable to read the notes I make on each daily report that is discussed in the daily production meeting.

A weird phone call was passed on to me this afternoon. Someone called our company looking for a Notary Public. They had found us in the yellow pages listing mailing services & they thought we would have a Notary on-site. We do happen to have one ... me. The chances of this happening seem awfully out there. Unfortunately by 9:30 I've not heard back from them; hopefully they found a Notary closer to them & were able to get their paperwork taken care of.
