A rare Saturday sighting...
June 24th, 2006 09:24 amThe good news is that I now have TWO days in a row where I have left work at a decent time. Thursday, I left at 4:20 - only 20 minutes over the time that I should have left. It felt like cheating since I have been working so late for so long! Yesterday I left well after 5 pm but that was partly due to some long conversation that were half-half personal & work related.
Down here in VA we went from a truly awesome spring to a wickedly humid summer over night. I hate that! I want the seasons to go back they way they used to be where one season quietly snuck in while the other crept out.
We are going through some really heavy thunder & lightening storms for a few days. The other night a storm woke us up around 1 AM. Normally we both sleep through storms, but this one was amazing. I do not recall anything like it. The thunder was virtually nonstop & we had lightening lighting up rooms on both sides of the house. Storms do not typically frighten me, although the energy from lightening will affect my energy if it is too close. As a child, I would go out & play in the storm's winds. This storm had me scared & I was certain we would have a tree down on the house or some such disaster.
Oddly enough, we did not even lose electricity ... however, the storm did take out the phone line we use for Brian's computer.
My office roommate has now relocated & I have the office to myself. I spent most of Friday trying to figure out the best way to arrange the furniture. After moving the desk this way & that MANY times, I think I have it figured out. Yes, I did all the moving by myself, by the time I waited around for help, it'd be nest week. The desk is nice & large but has zero storage space. I did learn that the set originally was used by the president of the company & that I am only the 3rd "owner".
