We took the Dodge to the dealership first thing this morning. It's a big dealership about 50 miles away (thankfully, closer to home) in Elizabeth City. They may even be able to look at it later in the day, but we know that is a long shot. Brian says there is no way they could have it fixed in time for us to drive it home.

Despite our best efforts, we both ended up with some sun burn from yesterday's beach outing. It seems that I missed the very tops of both legs ~ right where the bathing suit ends. The skin there is so tender it's not funny! I also missed two spots near both of my underarms; again nice & tender flesh that the sun baked to a red frenzy. Brian is burned on his back & belly for the most part but it does not seem too bad.

Aloe is our friend!

This afternoon, we trekked to the Currituck Lighthouse. It's one of the prettier ones, I think, being solid unpainted brick. I hadn't really planned on climbing to the top, but Brian made the decision for me. Just over 200 steps in all!

The view was AMAZING from the top! We could see both the sound & the Atlantic. The wind up there was pretty darn impressive too! I was a little nervous, but did not focus on looking straight down, just out to the horizon.

Coming DOWN was another story! It's much easier to climb up than down ... a made a little scarier in flip flops! LOL

The gift shop has a beautiful pottery platter with embossed horses in it. I fell in love with it in a heartbeat. I'm not sure that we'll be able to go back to buy it ... I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

No word on the Dodge yet ... hopefully we will learn something tomorrow.
