Opening day!
April 14th, 2007 02:55 pmBrian shot a really nice tom this morning! He called me from the woods to tell me about it. He was talking in whispers; that is how I knew he was still in the woods! After a bit of debate, I decided to stay home & sleep in. With our hunting lands disappearing fast, my staying home allowed Brian to hunt with his best buddy on some land that only the two of them have permission to hunt. They have hunted opening day of spring turkey together for a lot of years.
All the puppies are doing great. Litter number one is getting is to the really fun stage now. They are starting to walk around a bit. One tri-color female in particular has all the others beat hands down. She walks around the best, with her little tail straight up. I told Brian that she must have smelled a rabbit! A lemon female is our little lover-girl since she loves to lick our faces. One little lemon male is starting to howl. it is hilarious! His little mouth forms an "O" & he makes this whoooo-hoooo noise.
Litter number two is doing very well with the exception of being plagued by fleas. I am investigating on what products will be safe for puppies so young to be exposed to. They are growing fast with just the two of them nursing. The other day Brian let two from the other litter nurse on the shy momma & she accepted them without any fuss. The young lemon male got all excited with the competition!
The new job is going okay, I reckon. I am slowly cleaning up the office ... it is a MESS! I've pretty much filled my garbage can every day, plus. The goofy IT guy has helped me out with showing me where stuff is & scoring me a much needed paper organizer. I think all the paperwork is finally done so that I can get my discount, as well as a member dividend, if we spend a lot with the Co-op. Let's see what next week brings!
