What a day !

Brian & I went turkey hunting on Phelps - the wildlife management area that is nearby our home. With the land in Manassas no longer an option, our areas to hunt are very slim. It was a little chilly at o'dark thirty, but we knew it would warm up soon. While we did not see or hear any turkeys, we saw lots of deer (they are taunting us now that deer season is over) & Brian called an owl in to where we were set up. Most likely a barn owl ... it was a bit puzzled when it flew in to meet the other "owl" only to see to camouflauged lumps. It flew a short distance away after realizing it had been duped & another (real) owl starting hooting not too far away, so at least it had some company after all.
After preparing some puppy food for litter number one, I braced myself for the messy ordeal of trying to convince 8 Beagle puppies that puppy food is better than mommy's milk. The joke was on me because as soon as we set the dish down, all the puppies dove in & started wolfing down the food so fast, I thought I was going to have to do the Heimlich maneuver! It was an absolute riot to watch.
Litter number two still has it eyes closed. These boys are getting so big it is not funny. Our neighbor commented that they look like Guinea Pigs! I wonder if Cavy Beagles would sell for even more money - LOL
Everyone spent a lot of time outside ... puppies, mommies, Cooper & us. Brian did the "lawn thing" for most of the day & I got a lot accomplished both in & outside the house.
The male Beagle of the original Wolf Pack [tm] found a home yesterday! His new name is Jack & he has a wonderful family. They even sent me pictures of him this morning. Jack really took to the father & son very well while they were here & I'm sure he will do well.
