Friday the 13th
November 13th, 2009 07:16 pmOne of my favorite times of the year - Friday the 13th. (Hopefully LJ will behave and not eat my post)
Thermachoice Thursday went well. Thank you for the all the good thoughts and healing energy. Special thanks to Mom for taking such good care of me. While things afterward were a bit more painful than I had expected, I was able to eat a bit for dinner and even had a later night snack of a deer burger.
This morning was a big surprise - no pain, no cramping, no nausea. Tired and a little sore, but what a fast recovery. Kitty from the practice called to check up on me (and reminded me that she needs to see my tattoo once it is done) and I reported to her with glee how good I felt today as opposed to post-procedure yesterday.
The tattoo?
Have I mentioned that I am getting tattoo soon?
For my 45th birthday I have decided to get my dragonfly tattoo ... something that I have wanted for a long time. It's probably totally nuts to do this while I am still unemployed, but I have a little cash socked away and I will only be turning 45 one time.
The dragonfly is a symbol of freedom and balance - both of which are coming back to me as I turn 45. The tattoo will go on my inner right calf which is balancing in and of itself since a winged zebra is on my left shoulder.
Mom came over this afternoon with a rat. A pet rat for me. A blue hairless rat no less that was born prematurely. Tucker is VERY interested in young Mr. Rat ... to the point of sitting and staring at the cage and whining. Bad dog Tucker! Young Mr. Rat is not a treat for you! As you might have guessed, Young Mr. Rat has no real name as of yet.
Much to my pleasant surprise my bread machine came today! It is all black and stainless and very sexy! Amazon gets a gold star for a great price and SUPER fast shipping. After a trek to the grocery store to get ingredients, the very first loaf has been now been made (and subsequently enjoyed). The recipe was a low-carb loaf that came with the machine and has soy flour, ground flax seed and vital wheat gluten as the main ingredients. Tasted great, nice crust and was just yummy.
I received a "flush letter" from Fauquier Hospital; at least they let me know the job has been filled. Pickings are sure slim. Apparently no one needs marketing any more.
