Kick-butt Monday

Well, I'm not really sure that I kicked any actual arse, but I did get many things done done today ... and after a pretty productive weekend, no less.

On Saturday, we headed outside first thing while the ground was still as cold (and hopefully firmer) to scope out the situation with mom's stuck minivan. daecabhir was able to drive it out with no trouble (I pushed a little for insurance). With the van out of the way, we brought the old bedroom furniture downstairs where it will live until we decide which (if any) pieces we want to hang on to.

In the old furniture department, we do have a queen-sized waterbed platform for sale as well as a dresser top mirror. Ping me if you've any interest or know of anyone who might.

There was more general cleaning-type things that happened and then we headed to Culpeper to deliver said un-stuck minivan and do some grocery shopping together. We also found the elusive shower curtain to fit our custom shower in the master bathroom.

On Sunday there was a flurry of cleaning activity to prepare for our guests va_razz and his lady, Bolt. They had asked to come over to try out our bed since we had commented on how much we like our latex bed. That was not the only show and tell of the day - we got to check out va_razz's brand-spanking-new Dodge truck - it's gorgeous! Our friends surprised with a most fantastic and fitting wedding present ... a bottle of Saint Germain! daecabhir made some nomilicious stir fry for us to enjoy and dessert was German chocolate cake our friends brought from Wegman's.

That brings me back to today's bout of busyness ...

• Made some phone calls in the morning and then headed to F'burg
• Scored another pair of comfy Teva sneakers at Gander Mountain (on clearance + 25% off and used the reimbursement from one of the dog beds that Duchess chewed that was under warranty).
• Stopped by FedEx to drop off boots that are going back to shoes.com. Sadly the pair of hikers was defective and the harness boots - while ultra sexy on daecabhir - were too tight over his muscley calves.
• Had my two dba (doing business as) forms notarized.
• Shopped at BJ's.
• Went to Home Depot to exchange a cracked lamp and return a power strip that was not needed. Looked at ceiling fans (the ongoing saga) and bought two new lamps without cracks.
• Bought dog food (one bag was free because we have bought ten)

In other news, my wallet is filling up with things that say Wright on them which makes me smile. Apparently it makes a certain furry man smile as well; when we were in Martin's on Saturday he leaned over to watch me sign my name at the checkout and had the biggest grin on his face. 

Yup, we total dorks and quite unapologetic about it.
