Actually there is ... so I guess that's my April Fool's joke.

Lame, I know, but it's all I got.

It's been a busy few days ...

On Friday, I went back to Manassas Clay to glaze my bisque-ware. Somehow I think a bowl went AWOL, but I have twenty-nine pieces ready for the glaze kiln. Wendy, the instructor from my wheel class, was there and we talked quite a bit. She liked my square vases and we compared notes on our websites. She also says that I _am_ a potter.

::: shy smile :::

Saturday found [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir and I in Culpeper - we met [livejournal.com profile] njzoomom for lunch and a tree hand off. Mom bought us a red maple from the Arbor Day folks and we purchased some trees of our own as well. Then it was off to Lowes for lights and ornamental grasses and then a stop at Meadows Farms where we picked up a St. John's Wort plant to plant by the office (since they like shade).

Today, not surprisingly, found us planting _all of the things_ around the country home. [livejournal.com profile] daecabhir dug all of the holes while I mowed the lawn and took care of some other chores. We now have six giant arbor vitae planted along the property line; in time they should help hide our next door neighbors from view. As a side note, the cedars that I transplanted two years (or was it three?) are all still alive. Three red maples (two regular and one Japanese) are planted in the front island and the ornamental grasses are on the southern most side of the driveway along the road. They will help screen the other neighbors and help cut down on the road dust a bit.

Elsewhere about the homestead, the lilacs are starting their bloom, the daffodils and crocus are long done, the hostas are a few inches tall already and pretty much everything is budding and leafing out. We've already had some dandelions go to seed even!

The weekend went by far too fast but we'll still put it in the win category.
